A fatal railway accident claimed the life of 22-year-old Keertika on Sunday night near the Singaperumal Koil railway station. The victim, a native of Mannargudi in the Tiruvarur district, worked at a private firm located in Maraimalai Nagar. At the time of the collision, she was resident in a rented home near the station.

Circumstances of the Collision

Investigation records indicate that Keertika was returning from a mobile phone repair shop when the incident took place. She was accompanied by a friend as they attempted to cross the tracks. An express train traveling the Chennai-to-Thoothukudi route struck Keertika, inflicting injuries that proved fatal at the scene. Her companion sustained minor injuries but survived the encounter.
