Strategic Expansion of Legal Research Facilities
The SRM School of Law, an integral division of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), marked the start of the 2026-27 academic session by formalizing the opening of two specialized academic hubs. Justice V. Ramasubramanian, who serves as Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, inaugurated the Centre for Human Rights Studies alongside the Centre for International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law. These additions aim to broaden the institutional focus on global advocacy and legal protections.

During the induction of approximately 350 students across various LLB and LLM programs, high-ranking legal experts outlined the evolving expectations of the profession. Justice Ramasubramanian advised the cohort to view legal education as a lifelong process that permeates every social interaction, rather than a pursuit confined to textbooks.
