Suicide Attempt Near Chief Minister’s Special Cell
A 45-year-old resident of Avalurpet village, identified as Archana, suffered injuries on Monday morning after attempting to take her own life at the Tamil Nadu Secretariat. The incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. directly outside the Chief Minister’s Special Cell, causing immediate alarm within the government complex. Police officers stationed at the site managed to intervene quickly, transporting her to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Land Dispute Behind the Crisis
Preliminary investigations by law enforcement suggest the act was driven by a protracted legal battle. Archana had traveled from Villupuram district to the capital to submit a formal grievance, requesting the government settle a land dispute involving another resident of her village. Despite her intent to seek administrative intervention, the situation escalated into a public safety emergency before she could complete the process.
