Nandyal Hospital Critical Care Unit Completion Urged by District Collector

District Collector G. Rajakumari visited the Government General Hospital in Nandyal on Wednesday to review construction progress on the Critical Care Unit (CCU). She instructed officials to ensure the project is finished within the allocated time and to maintain high quality standards.

During her inspection, Ms. Rajakumari noted that the first floor of the CCU is complete, with work underway on the second floor. She highlighted that the operational CCU will improve emergency and critical care availability for severely ill patients. Additionally, hospital authorities were directed to ensure all operating theatres are functional.

The Collector also addressed a previous water shortage issue at the hospital, confirming that a new sump has resolved the problem and supply is now consistent across all wards. She reviewed patient food services, emphasizing quality control and noting that high-protein diets are provided in the gynaecology ward, with regular diets for others. Ms. Rajakumari stated that surprise inspections of food services will continue.

Furthermore, Ms. Rajakumari called for improvements to the hospital help desk to better assist patients with information about departments and services. She also directed that all eligible patients be informed about free treatment options available through the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme.
