Goa CM urges youth to drive India’s development by 2047

What Happened

At the inaugural session of the two-day Viksit Bharat Young Political Leader Dialogue, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant called on young people to play a decisive role in creating a developed India by the year 2047. The event was organized by the BJP Yuva Morcha in Vijayawada, with participation from regional BJP leaders including P.V.N. Madhav, the BJP State President, and Vijayawada West MLA Y. Sujana Chowdary. Sawant encouraged aspiring young politicians to seek solutions to people’s problems rather than pursuing positions, and he outlined five guiding principles: accessibility to people, accountability, inclusiveness, innovative thinking, and a nation-first approach. He said leadership should be judged by grassroots impact rather than speeches on stage, and he advised youth to gain experience in education, employment, or business before entering politics.

Participants included young representatives selected from various districts of Goa, who joined the dialogue as part of the program’s objectives. Madhav emphasised that a truly developed India would arise from a developed Andhra Pradesh and urged the state’s youth to contribute to national development. He linked the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047 to the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, stressing financial inclusion, infrastructure, self-reliant manufacturing, and social equality as essential elements. He highlighted initiatives such as Jan Dhan accounts, the digital economy, and the expansion of roads, railways, ports, and airports, along with the growth of indigenous manufacturing capabilities. He also encouraged young people to take pride in India’s history, culture, traditions, languages, arts, and scientific and technological heritage. Sujana Chowdary echoed the importance of technological knowledge for youth, while other speakers, including BJYM State president Sunil Reddy, urged active participation in nation-building at the grassroots level.
