Two Road Accidents in Zaheerabad Kill Eight, Injure Several

What Happened

Two separate road accidents occurred in Zaheerabad on Tuesday, August 11, within a 15-minute span, leading to the deaths of at least eight people and leaving several others injured. The collisions caused substantial traffic jams on the Hyderabad-Bidar road.

The first incident involved a speeding tanker striking an overloaded autorickshaw near the Mahindra & Mahindra facility on the Zaheerabad-Bidar road around 7:45 p.m. Six individuals, identified as workers from Bidar returning home, died in the autorickshaw. Several other passengers in the autorickshaw sustained injuries, with some in critical condition. Two of the injured were placed on ventilator support.

Approximately 15 minutes later, within the jurisdiction of the Kohir police station, a second accident occurred. An Ertiga vehicle, reportedly attempting to overtake another car, crossed the road divider and collided with vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. This collision killed two occupants of the Ertiga and injured two other individuals.
