Cyberabad Clears 345 Encroachments in 'Walk Free' Initiative

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has removed 345 encroachments from roads and footpaths covering a total distance of 12.45 kilometers. The operation occurred on Friday, August 14, as part of a recurring initiative called ‘Walk Free.’ The program aims to reclaim public areas for use by pedestrians and drivers.

What Happened

Teams from the CMC conducted the encroachment removal drive across all three of its operational zones. The effort focused on clearing roads, footpaths, and other public areas that had been occupied. The Quthbullapur Zone saw the most significant clearing, with 161 encroachments removed over 4.6 km. Areas within this zone that were targeted include Chintal, Jeedimetla, Kompally, Gajularamaram, Nizampet, Dundigal, and Medchal. The Serilingampally Zone had 116 encroachments cleared along 4.5 km, covering Ameenpur, Miyapur, and Serilingampally. In the Kukatpally Zone, 68 encroachments were cleared across 3.35 km, impacting Madhapur, Kukatpally, Moosapet, and Allwyn Colony.

CMC officials stated that monitoring teams will continue to observe the cleared areas. The objective is to prevent any recurrence of encroachment and ensure that the reclaimed roads, footpaths, and public spaces remain accessible to the public.
