Cyberabad Authorities File FIR and Seize Vehicles Over Illegal Gachibowli Waste Dumping
Municipal officials in Cyberabad have initiated criminal proceedings against three individuals for persistent construction waste dumping near Gachibowli. Authorities seized vehicles and installed physical barriers to protect the public site opposite the Deloitte campus.
Legal Action Against Night-Time Violators
City officials have launched a criminal investigation into the persistent illegal disposal of construction and demolition (C&D) waste opposite the Deloitte campus in Gachibowli. On July 22, the Deputy Commissioner of Madhapur Circle No. 50, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), filed a formal complaint at the Raidurgam Police Station. The First Information Report (FIR) identifies Bamaiah, Prabhakar Reddy, and Laxmaiah as the primary accused. The case includes charges under Sections 329(3) and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act.
Enforcement Measures and Site Security
To halt further ecological and logistical damage, the CMC has implemented several enforcement tactics:
- Vehicle Seizure: Machinery and trucks allegedly used to transport and discard debris at the site have been confiscated by authorities.
- Physical Barriers: Construction crews installed blue galvanised iron (GI) sheeting around the targeted area to block access for unauthorized vehicles.
- Police Surveillance: Officials have requested intensified night patrols and increased surveillance to prevent violators from operating under the cover of darkness.
Impact on Infrastructure and Public Safety
The crackdown follows a series of ignored warnings and failed administrative directives. Despite a formal request for police intervention on July 7, illegal activity continued through the month. Field inspections and resident reports confirmed that the accumulating debris obstructed pedestrian walkways and restricted traffic flow. Beyond the immediate physical hazards, the CMC noted that the dumping caused significant environmental pollution in the Raidurgam area. The Deputy Commissioner has urged law enforcement to conduct a comprehensive inquiry to identify all parties involved in the logistics of the dumping operation.
