Strategic Leadership Reshuffle for Assembly Preparedness

In a move to fortify its organizational foundation ahead of the next Assembly election, the Congress party has launched the Sanghatan Srujan Abhiyan. This initiative involves appointing new presidents for all district Congress committees to ensure the party is trial-ready for the polls. Basareddy Malipatil Anapur, current president of the Yadgir district unit, confirmed these developments during a press conference on Monday, July 27.

Six-Day Assessment Tour by Senior Observers

A high-level delegation will camp in the Yadgir district from July 30 to August 4 to engage directly with grassroots workers. The visiting team includes:

  • Jetti Kusuma Kumar: AICC Observer for Yadgir district
  • Shanagouda Patil Bayyapur: MLC and KPCC Observer
  • Raj Gopal Reddy: MLC and KPCC Observer

The visiting officials will execute a rigorous schedule of block-level meetings to gather intelligence on party strength and leadership viability. The itinerary begins on July 30 with meetings in Shorapur and Hunsagi, followed by Shahapur and Kembhavi on July 31. The observers will then move to Yadgir and Wadagera on August 3, concluding their tour in Gurmitkal and Saidapur on August 4.

Selection Process and Local Aspirants

Mr. Kumar will formally accept applications from individuals seeking the district presidency during this visit. Currently, five contenders have emerged for the leadership role in Yadgir. Mr. Anapur, the incumbent president, has publicly expressed his intention to seek a second term as the party seeks to solidify its local hierarchy.
