Ten-Day Public Health Initiative in Coimbatore

RVS Dental College and Hospital has announced a significant public health outreach beginning July 30. The community initiative, which runs through August 8, provides essential dental services to the public at no cost. Residents can visit the facility between 10 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. to access professional care and consultation.

Honoring a Legacy in Periodontology

The timing of this camp aligns with the birth anniversary of Dr. G.B. Shankwalkar, who served as the founder-president of the Indian Society of Periodontology. By coinciding with Oral Hygiene Day, the institution seeks to elevate awareness regarding dental maintenance and prevent common oral diseases. The campaign operates under the direction of the Department of Periodontology, led by Dr. Deepshika Saravanan, with administrative oversight from Principal-cum-Director Dr. V.K. Vijay and RVS Group of Institutions Chairman, Dr. K.V. Kuppusamy.

Available Medical Services

The program offers three primary components to attendees:

  • Oral Screenings: Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to identify potential dental issues.
  • Professional Scaling: Clinical cleaning services to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Health Education: Guidance on maintaining long-term hygiene and preventive care techniques.

This event serves as a practical extension of the institution’s commitment to community welfare while paying tribute to historical figures in Indian dentistry.
