South Korean Footwear Giant Boyoung Maps Out ₹245-Crore Export Facility in Annamayya
District Collector Nishant Kumar confirmed that South Korean manufacturer Boyoung will establish a massive footwear accessory plant in Valmikipuram mandal. The three-phase development aims to supply high-end international brands while generating significant regional employment.
Strategic Expansion at Tatiguntapalli Industrial Park
Annamayya District Collector Nishant Kumar conducted a site inspection on Wednesday alongside a delegation from Boyoung, a prominent South Korean footwear firm. The company, in coordination with SKI Corp Group, intends to launch a ₹245-crore manufacturing unit focused on export markets. Located within the Tatiguntapalli Industrial Park in Valmikipuram mandal, the facility will produce essential footwear components including webbings and shoelaces for global retail leaders.
Phased Development and Infrastructure Needs
The project follows a tiered implementation strategy. According to the Collector, the industrial roadmap for the site includes:
- Initial Land Allocation: The company requested approximately 40 acres to initiate the first phase of construction.
- Expansion Provisions: The layout includes contingencies for additional acreage as production scales up.
- Phased Investment: The total capital outlay of ₹245 crore will be deployed across three distinct development stages.
Company representatives expressed approval of the existing infrastructure at the park, citing its readiness for large-scale operations. The district administration committed to a streamlined process for the investors, promising a single-window approach to land allotment, mandatory statutory clearances, and cross-departmental administrative support.
Regional Economic Drivers
Collector Nishant Kumar identified several logistical factors that make the district a competitive hub for international manufacturing. The chosen site benefits from strong highway connectivity, a reliable power grid, and proximity to water sources. Human capital also played a role in the site selection, with the Collector noting the availability of a skilled local workforce ready for the footwear sector. To further entice the South Korean delegates, the administration highlighted specific government incentives designed to reduce operational overhead for export-oriented units.
