A girl inspired by the Apollo 11 Moon landing grew up in Karnataka and rose to lead ISRO’s GSAT-12 mission operations. She directed an all-women team at the Master Control Facility and helped shepherd the satellite from its initial orbit to its final geostationary position in 2011.
