Independence Day celebrated across Vellore and adjacent districts

The 80th Independence Day was observed in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur and Tiruvannamalai districts with flag hoisting, honours for freedom fighters' families, and distribution of merit certificates and welfare assistance. Security arrangements involved over 2,500 police personnel.
