Maya Rahul elected chairperson of Pala municipality as LDF and rebel Congress join

Maya Rahul was elected chairperson of Pala municipality in Keralam on August 19, 2026, securing 16 votes from all LDF councillors, three rebel Congress members and herself. Riya Bino Cheeramkuzhi of UDF received 10 votes. The post had been vacant since a no-confidence motion on July 21, 2026.
