Shigellosis reappears in Keralam; 3-year-old hospitalised

A 3-year-old from Kottukal in Thiruvananthapuram district was admitted to SAT Hospital with shigellosis, confirmed on August 18, 2026. Additional cases were reported across several districts as health authorities renewed public warnings during festival season.
