The state government has authorized a fresh disbursement of ₹99.40 crore to expedite the transformation of the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada. This capital injection, sanctioned on Saturday, July 25, follows an established pattern of fiscal support for the Rajanna Sircilla district pilgrimage site, frequently referred to as 'Dakshin Kashi'.
Budgetary Breakdown and Project Status
With this latest tranche, the cumulative financial commitment to the temple's renovation has climbed to ₹249 crore. The government previously reinforced the project's liquidity through Two distinct budget cycles:
- 2023-24 Budget: An initial allocation of ₹50 crore.
- 2024-25 Budget: A substantial provision of ₹100 crore.
Current estimates value the ongoing primary development works at ₹150 crore. According to internal temple sources, contractors have completed approximately 45% of the scheduled infrastructure upgrades. The additional funds are expected to sustain the momentum of the expansion efforts as the site prepares for increased visitor capacity.
