Strategic Expansion Across Global Markets

Ryan ten Doeschate has transitioned from his role as assistant coach for the Indian national team to a newly created position as head of cricket strategy for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This move follows a formal conclusion to his tenure with the BCCI, alongside fielding coach T. Dilip, as the governing body confirmed no further contract extensions for the pair. In his new capacity, ten Doeschate will manage a broad portfolio that includes talent acquisition, squad planning, and performance evaluation for the group's various international interests.

Integrated Coaching and Scouting Networks

The appointment aims to synchronize a singular cricketing philosophy across the KKR umbrella. Ten Doeschate will coordinate with analytics and coaching units to modernize scouting and player development. His operational duties extend physically to three different leagues, where he will serve as an assistant coach for:

• Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL)
• Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the International League T20 (ILT20)
• Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket (MLC)

Ten Doeschate described the assignment as a unique opportunity to strengthen development systems and establish a sustainable long-term strategy for the organization.

A Legacy of Franchise Success

The former Netherlands international maintains a deep historical connection with the KKR franchise. He was an active player during their Indian Premier League championship runs in 2012 and 2014. More recently, he contributed as a member of the coaching staff during the team's third title victory in 2024. Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Sports, noted that ten Doeschate's familiarity with the organization's core values and his diverse international experience made him the logical choice for this leadership role.
