Taylor Farms has confirmed it has ceased sourcing from this particular farmer and is securing supplies from alternative sources.
Consumers are advised to discard any recalled products immediately and can obtain refunds from their place of purchase. Symptoms of salmonella infection typically appear 12 to 72 hours after consumption and can include diarrhea, fever, and stomach pain.
The affected products include items like pico de gallo salsa, various guacamole formulations, burritos, spicy sandwiches, and fresh sliced jalapenos.
This recall occurs as Taylor Farms faces scrutiny for a separate recall of iceberg lettuce, also sourced from Mexico, which was linked to a large outbreak of cyclosporiasis. That outbreak, as of an August 4 update from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, had made over 22,000 people ill since May 1.
