Starzella Leads Field for Bangalore Summer Million as Turf Seasons Peaks

The Bangalore Summer Million stands as the centerpiece of Thursday's racing schedule, where the highly conditioned Starzella intends to secure another victory. A full nine-race card at the 1,600-meter track features competitive divisions and several maiden events.

Starzella Targets the Summer Million

Racing resumes on Thursday, July 30, with the Bangalore Summer Million serving as the day’s featured 1,600m event. Competition will take place on a track where false rails have been positioned approximately 6.5m wide from the 1,600m mark through to the finish line. Starzella, currently maintaining peak form, enters the 4:00 p.m. feature race as the primary contender. Antony will mount the three-year-old carrying 55.5kg, facing a field that includes Dardanus, piloted by Trevor at 57kg, and Black Irish with Pavan at 54kg. Other entries for this premium terms event include Ashwa New York, Sensuous, and Shrishti.

Maiden and Handicap Divisions

The program commences at 1:00 p.m. with the first of two divisions for the Own Opinion Plate, a maiden event for three-year-olds over 1,400m. In Division II, Lysia, Monstera, and Blazing Pearl are the top-rated prospects. The first division follows at 2:00 p.m., where Heimirich, Battle Crown, and Routing Run appear strong in a nine-horse field.

Lower-rated competitors feature heavily in the Sha Tin Plate, divided into three sections for horses rated 00 to 25. Division III opens the sequence at 1:30 p.m., with Forever Royal expected to perform well against Dr. Colchester and N R I Millennium. Division II at 2:30 p.m. sees Hold Your Breath carrying the top weight of 60.5kg, challenged by Embosom and Anzac Parade. The final division at 4:30 p.m. lists Sweet Winner and Dasadyu as the names to watch.

Middle-Distance Challenges

Higher-rated handicaps occupy the mid-afternoon slots. The Leading Owner Trophy at 3:00 p.m. features 12 runners rated 40 to 65. Analysts highlight Bestidentification and Disciple as the leading threats in this 1,400m contest. Following this, the B.T.C. Workforce Cup at 3:30 p.m. matches a dozen runners over 1,600m. Pledge, carrying 52.5kg with Akshay K, is tipped to outperform Refreshment and Winfield.

The day concludes at 5:00 p.m. with the Holding Court Plate. This 1,600m race for horses rated 20 to 45 tasks top-weighted Seize The Grey with giving away weight to a field of twelve. Lots Of Luck and Mandate are anticipated to be the primary challengers in the final event of the card.
