Set up dedicated bureau for traffic management: CM
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to establish a dedicated bureau for traffic management and road safety to ensure scientific planning and continuous monitoring of traffic across the State.
Reviewing traffic management measures with senior officials, he said the organisational structure of the proposed bureau should be designed after a comprehensive study, enabling it to address emerging traffic challenges through a long-term institutional framework.
Mr. Reddy instructed officials to conduct a review every two to three months to assess traffic conditions and evaluate measures required for better traffic regulation. He asked officials to prepare traffic management plans by taking into account factors such as changing weather conditions, office working hours, peak traffic periods and local travel patterns.
He further called for the development of a signal-free traffic system in Hyderabad by constructing underpasses and elevated corridors wherever required.
