Transitioning from Period Drama to Chaos

After portraying an intense role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, Sanjeeda Shaikh sought to break the "serious actor" stereotype. Director Indra Kumar initiated the casting process after viewing her performance in the period drama, though he initially questioned her suitability for the lighthearted franchise. Shaikh secured the role after demonstrating her natural personality during a meeting with Kumar, where he noted that her genuine laughter fit the film's requirements.

The Action-Comedy Paradox

While cast for her first major comedic role, Shaikh discovered that her character was central to the film's physical mayhem. In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actress noted that although she expected a purely comedic experience, she ended up performing constant action sequences. This led to a recurring joke on set regarding the role reversal between her and co-star Ajay Devgn, a veteran of the action genre. Shaikh remarked that she felt "fooled" into performing the stunts while Devgn focused on the comedic beats.

Joining an Established Ensemble

Working alongside franchise regulars presented a distinct set of challenges. Shaikh expressed that her primary objective was to ensure her character remained visible and integrated when sharing the screen with Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Ajay Devgn.
