Residents of a house escape unhurt after a refrigerator explodes in Mudichur

The residents of a house in Mudichur escaped unhurt after a refrigerator in their home exploded on Thursday night. 

The Tambaram police said a group of eight bachelors were watching television in the hall of the rented house when the refrigerator in the kitchen exploded with a loud noise. Even as the young men ran out of the room, the refrigerator caught fire. On being alerted, firefighters from Tambaram station arrived and extinguished the blaze. The Perungalathur-Peerkankaranai police have identified the reason to be short circuit in the junction box.
