Reckless Mini-Lorry Collision Leaves Three Dead on Chittoor National Highway

Fatal Sequence Near Kadapalli Village

Tragedy struck the Madanapalle-Krishnagiri national highway on Monday when a speeding mini-lorry collided with multiple targets near Kadapalli village in Chittoor district's Shantipuram mandal. The vehicle reportedly careened out of control, slamming into a stationary water tanker before striking a motorcycle moving through the area. Local authorities confirmed that three people died as a direct result of the high-velocity impact.

Victims Identified in Highway Incident

The collision claimed the lives of a couple from the local Beera Kuppam village. Sundarappa, aged 60, and his wife Venkatamma, aged 50, were traveling on their motorcycle when the mini-lorry hit them; both were pronounced dead at the scene. The third fatality involved four-year-old Bujji, a young child who was standing in the vicinity of the parked water tanker when the lorry plowed into it. The force of the crash proved fatal for the toddler instantly.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Beyond the fatalities, the accident left five bystanders with various injuries. Emergency responders transported these individuals to PES Medical College hospital for urgent clinical care. Meanwhile, police officials coordinated the transfer of the deceased to the Government Hospital in Kuppam for mandatory postmortem procedures. Preliminary reports from the investigative team suggest the driver of the mini-lorry lost mechanical control of the vehicle prior to the series of impacts. Law enforcement has officially registered a case and remains on-site to reconstruct the timeline of events.
