Peddapalli District Sees Second-Highest Rise in Government School Enrollment

What Happened

Peddapalli district has experienced a significant rise in student enrollment within government-run educational institutions. For the current academic year, 2026-27, enrollment has climbed by 4.81% compared to the previous year. This increase positions Peddapalli district as having the second-highest percentage growth in student admissions across Telangana state, following only Mancherial district.

As of now, a total of 32,636 students have enrolled in various government and local body schools in Peddapalli. This includes institutions such as Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Society (TREIS), Telangana Model Schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), and Urban Residential Schools (URSs). Last year, the combined enrollment in these same institutions was 31,140.

The district has set an enrollment target of 34,254 students for the 2026-27 academic year and currently needs to secure an additional 1,641 admissions to meet this goal. Across the state, while there has been a marginal increase in enrollment, the collective 33 districts still require 1,68,155 more students to achieve the statewide target of 21,39,006.
