Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to execute a comprehensive 45-day door-to-door outreach initiative. Starting July 27, this campaign aims to communicate the specific achievements of the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena coalition during its first two years in office. During a teleconference with party officials and elected representatives on July 26, 2026, Naidu emphasized that public engagement is vital for maintaining the momentum gained during the last general election.
Leveraging the 2024 Mandate
Reflecting on the 2024 electoral outcomes, Naidu highlighted the significant shift in the political environment. The coalition currently operates with a 94% strike rate, having captured 57% of the total vote share. This mandate successfully displaced the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), whose presence in the Legislative Assembly plummeted from 151 seats to just 11. The Chief Minister attributed this decline to the previous administration's internal failures and obstructive governance structures.
Objectives for Local Governance and Accountability
The upcoming campaign serves a dual purpose: reinforcing the coalition's track record and preparing for impending local body elections. Naidu issued a directive for all party ranks—including Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs—to participate directly. Key priorities for the outreach include:
