Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive at Bhogapuram via special aircraft at 10:45 a.m. on August 1. This high-profile visit centers on the inauguration of the Alluri Sitharama Raju International Airport and a suite of development initiatives valued at ₹18,000 crore. Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu are set to welcome the Prime Minister upon his arrival from Delhi.

A Sustainable Milestone in Aviation

Chief Minister Naidu, who recently reviewed the site preparations, characterized the greenfield airport as a significant achievement for the region. The project reached completion in 31 months with an expenditure of ₹4,727 crore. The facility adheres to rigorous environmental and design standards:

• LEED Platinum Certification: The terminal incorporates sustainable building practices.
• Energy and Water: The site features a 5 MW solar power installation and comprehensive rainwater harvesting systems.
• Cultural Design: The architecture draws inspiration from the maritime traditions of the Bay of Bengal.

Operational Schedule and Public Engagement

Following his arrival, the Prime Minister will officially open the terminal building at 10:58 a.m. and conduct a formal inspection with state officials. Local cultural groups, including 13,500 tribal women and students, will perform the Dhimsa dance to receive him at the public meeting grounds. Mr. Modi is expected to address the gathering between 11:30 a.m. and 12:55 p.m. before departing for the capital at 1:10 p.m.

The administration has sought to build local enthusiasm through a campaign titled Wings to the Dreams of North Andhra. This outreach initiative includes marathons, drone displays, and elocution contests designed to involve the community in the infrastructure launch.
