Tourism Minister S. Rajesh Kumar presided over a significant recruitment milestone on Saturday during a job fair in Nagercoil, where 482 candidates secured positions across various private firms. The event, coordinated by the Kanniyakumari District Employment and Career Guidance Centre alongside the Tamil Nadu State Rural and Urban Livelihood Missions, drew a total of 2,112 job seekers from across the region.

During his address to the attendees, Minister Rajesh Kumar highlighted that these district-level initiatives serve multiple functions beyond immediate placement. Key components of the program include:

• Individual career guidance and professional counseling sessions.
• Access to cost-free skill development training modules designed to increase marketability.
• Direct interaction between eligible youth and private sector recruiters.

The Minister also noted that the administration is actively addressing vacancies within government departments to ensure timely recruitment. He urged the newly hired professionals to commit to continuous learning within their respective industries to secure long-term career growth.
