Previously, students seeking admission through centralized spot admissions were required to travel to the Government Engineering College (GEC) in Thrissur, regardless of their preferred college. This year, the Technical Education Department initially planned for individual colleges to conduct separate spot admissions. However, in response to concerns from students, the Minister directed a revised approach.
Under the new arrangement, candidates for the August 13 spot admission can report to any of the 12 participating government or aided engineering colleges. A centralized software system will manage the allotment of available seats based on each candidate's rank. Applicants must present themselves at one of the chosen colleges by 12 p.m. on August 13 to be eligible for admission to any vacant B.Tech seats.
