Law enforcement officials at the J-5 Shastri Nagar Police Station initiated the case on July 24 after receiving a formal complaint from the bank's Chief Manager, Namachivayam.

Process was served on Monday, July 27, when authorities issued a summons under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Ms. Kayalvizhi complied with the legal demand, appearing before the Investigating Officer the following day. Although police executed a formal arrest after the interrogation session, she secured her release shortly after through station bail.
