What Happened

At Andhra Loyola College in Vijayawada, a seminar titled Career Opportunities in Management and Technology-Future Ready: Opportunities Beyond Graduation was conducted in collaboration with The Hindu Future India Club and SRM University-AP. The event featured Satya Duvvuri, a professor from the Paari School of Business at SRM University-AP, and V. V. S. Pradeep, Assistant Director at SRM University-AP. A memento was presented to a student during the proceedings, and the speakers addressed the audience on career preparation and adaptability in a changing job market.

Duvvuri urged students to take charge of their career paths, dream ambitiously, and continually upgrade skills to stay prepared for the future. He cautioned against letting uncertainty, unemployment, AI-driven shifts, communication hurdles, or personal background limit ambitions. He pointed to the journey of an ALC alumnus who advanced from a B.Sc. to higher qualifications and eventually became Director of Education for Andhra Pradesh as an example of possibilities arising from perseverance. He cited Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s words on pursuing motivating dreams and stressed the importance of communication, a positive mindset, and proficiency in new technologies for career growth. He also noted opportunities in higher education, entrepreneurship, and fields like Agentic AI, sales, and negotiation. He encouraged students to use their three years at ALC productively and dedicate the next 90 days to targeted self-improvement and career preparation, stressing that personal interests should guide career choices rather than financial gain alone.

Pradeep shared two illustrative anecdotes to foster innovative thinking. He described a Bata salesperson who reframed a lack of demand as an opportunity, and he referenced the RedBus app as a solution born from addressing a common transportation hurdle. These stories were used to urge students to look beyond conventional methods, identify everyday problems, and continually refresh their knowledge and skills. Observing the event were ALC Principal Fr. Melchior and Head of the BBA Department, P. Durga Pavani.

The seminar occurred on a Thursday, with the publication noting the venue and participants present and underscoring the emphasis on practical, future-oriented career planning for students.
