For the second time in 48 hours, the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) issued a direct challenge to authorities regarding the treatment of activists. Saurav Das, representing the CJP, declared that the organization is prepared to resume large-scale protests if the government initiates punitive measures against participants of recent demonstrations.
Concerns Over Judicial Interpretations
The friction stems from a recent Supreme Court directive that permitted law enforcement agencies to continue investigations under existing First Information Reports (FIRs). Das expressed significant concern that the executive branch might manipulate this judicial clearance to systematically target specific individuals involved in the movement.
