Adani Defence & Aerospace is undertaking a substantial expansion of its ammunition manufacturing facility in Kanpur. The company plans to invest approximately ₹2,000 crore in a new unit spanning about 250 acres in the Hathipur area. This follows an initial investment of nearly ₹4,000 crore already made in Kanpur. The expansion aims to boost domestic production of various types of ammunition, including small, medium, and large-calibre rounds, as well as grenades. Production of medium-calibre ammunition is slated to commence by 2027, with grenade production capacity expected to reach 40 lakh units annually by the same year, and an additional 40 lakh units by 2029.
