Widespread Demonstrations and Allegations of Systemic Fraud
The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has escalated its opposition to the current administration by launching state-wide protests against the Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitment cycle. Demonstrators took to the streets on Tuesday in major hubs including Vijayawada, Nellore, Tirupati, and Nandyal. At the heart of these protests is a demand for the immediate resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, whom the opposition holds responsible for alleged question paper leaks and fraudulent appointments under the Sports Quota.

While most protests proceeded as planned, authorities in Narasannapeta forcibly halted a proposed rally led by Dr. Dharmana Krishna Chaitanya. Despite a planned convoy of 50 vehicles, police cited prohibitory orders to block the assembly, resulting in a tense standoff. Dr. Chaitanya countered by demanding written justification for the restrictions, accusing the state of stifling democratic dissent. Similar calls for accountability echoed in Vijayawada, where NTR district president Devineni Avinash, former minister Vellampalli Srinivas, and MLC Ruhullah led a march from Sambamurthy Nagar to Dharna Chowk.

The YSRCP is framing the teacher recruitment issues within a broader context of educational mismanagement. During a rally in Tirupati, former minister R.K. Roja called for a formal CBI inquiry, drawing parallels between the local recruitment controversy and the national NEET paper leak scandal. The party’s list of grievances includes:
- Failure to pay over Rs. 7,000 crore in pending fee reimbursement dues.
- The coalition government's inability to deliver on promised unemployment allowances.
- Alleged denial of positions to qualified candidates in favor of irregular appointments.
In Nellore, hundreds of activists led by former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy and MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy marched from the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar statue to Gandhi Bomma Centre. Meanwhile, in Nandyal, leaders like Katasani Ram Bhupal Reddy and MLC Isaq Basha echoed the sentiment that the agitation would persist until the government addresses the lack of transparency in the employment process.
