Water supply to be disrupted for 24 hours in parts of Hyderabad on July 27

Water supply will be disrupted for 24 hours in many parts of the city on July 27 from 10 a.m. on account of pipeline junction work being taken up near Uppal Junction to facilitate the ongoing grade separator construction faster.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) on Saturday stated that the work was connected to the 1,600 mm diameter MS gravity main pipeline of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project (KWSP) Phase-II Ring Main-2. The junction work is being taken up to hasten the construction of the P15 foundation of the Uppal flyover being built by the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation.

The board stated that the work was necessary due to the fact that the road from Uppal Junction towards the Warangal Highway was closed, and completing the foundation work at the earliest would help ameliorate the heavy vehicular traffic situation.

The localities that will be affected include Fatehnagar, Hasmathpet, Prakash Nagar, Nacharam, HMT Nagar, Beerappagadda, Habsiguda, Ramanthapur, Venkat Reddy Nagar, Uppal, Mekalamandi, parts of Bholakpur, Padmarao Nagar, Bansilalpet, Buddhanagar, parts of Tarnaka, Sitaphalmandi, Mettuguda, parts of Lalapet, North Lalaguda, Addagutta, Balanagar, South Central Railway establishments, MES and Secunderabad Cantonment Board areas.

The Water Board urged consumers in the affected areas to use water judiciously during the disruption, adding that supply would be restored in a phased manner after completion of the pipeline works.
