Top Performance at 1200m

During the Wednesday morning track trials on July 29, Vortex, ridden by Zeeshan, produced a standout performance on the inner sand. The horse clocked 1:18 for the 1200m distance, maintaining a sharp pace through 1000m in 1:03 and 800m in 49, finishing the final 600m in 37. Other notable efforts over the long distance included Youremanorborne, who finished in 1:25, and Giacomo, who registered a time of 1:26.

Sprints and Combined Drills

The 800m and 1000m sessions featured high-intensity pairings. Dreamer (Parmar) and Miss American Pie (Ranjane) both impressed onlookers with a 49-second run over 800m, closing their final 600m in 37. Meanwhile, Red Rose overcame a five-length deficit against Muqaddar to finish two lengths ahead in 1:07 over 1000m.

Key 800m results included:

  • Seneca and Notimeforcaution finished level at 52 (600/39).
  • Dreams Come True outpaced Baillee by six lengths, clocking 53.
  • Invincible Force displayed superior acceleration, starting three lengths back and finishing four lengths ahead of Illusionist.
  • Dashing Cheri and Desert Diamond were both pushed through their sets, timing 52 and 53 respectively.

Gate Practice and 600m Form

Morning gate trials over 1000m saw Gunfire outclass Abhyankar by six lengths in 1:06. Marius similarly distanced Queen Caroline by four lengths in the same time. Victory Flair and Elysian Fire also dominated their respective pairings, both finishing several lengths ahead of their partners.

In shorter 600m sprints, Noraiah and Holding The Fort posted comfortable times of 40 and 42 respectively. G Valentino moved easily to match the 42-second mark, while Impulsive and Flash Mob registered slightly faster times of 54 seconds for their total 800m progressions.
