For the upcoming Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations starting September 14, Visakhapatnam will witness a significant artistic and religious display in Sri Nagar, Gajuwaka. SV Entertainments recently announced the installation of an idol named ‘Sri Divya Kankana Alankara Maha Ganapathi.’ This specific project involves decorating the massive deity with one crore bangles. According to Mr. Ganesh, a representative of the organizing group, the bangle-heavy design serves as a representation of prosperity and spiritual devotion.
A Legacy of Innovative Artistry
This year’s choice follows a consistent pattern of using unconventional materials to create grand festival landmarks. The organizers are known for their record-breaking scale and unique fabrication methods. Historical highlights include:
- 2025 Installation: A massive 89-foot tall ‘Sri Sundara Vastra Maha Ganesha’ constructed from 100,000 sarees at Lanka Grounds.
- 2026 Objective: Utilizing ten million colorful bangles to create a focal point for city-wide festivities.
