Telangana Initiates Major Public Safety Hiring Drive with 7,437 Vacancies
The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board has announced a significant expansion of personnel across five security departments. Over 7,000 positions are now open in the state's largest recruitment effort in recent history.

The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TGSLPRB) formally issued notifications on Wednesday to address over 7,400 vacancies in the state's security apparatus. The Police Department claims the lion's share of these openings, seeking to fill 5,000 positions. These roles range from specialized technical staff to frontline officers, including 148 Sub Inspectors (Civil), 3,697 Police Constables (Civil), and 1,052 Police Constables (AR). The expansion also targets the Fingerprint Bureau with 23 Assistant Sub Inspector roles, alongside specific technical needs for drivers and mechanics.
Beyond the core police force, other critical emergency services are seeing significant growth:
- Special Protection Force (SPF): 44 Sub Inspectors and 1,380 Constables.
- Fire, Disaster Response, and Civil Defence: 39 Station Fire Officers and 751 Fire Fighters.
- Prisons and Correctional Services: 223 total positions, including Deputy Jailors and Warders for both male and female wings.
Mandatory Prerequisites for Applicants
While the board will release the formal schedule for online applications via a separate press statement, officials have proactively released compliance requirements. The TGSLPRB advises all prospective candidates to undergo a physical and medical assessment with a Civil Surgeon prior to submitting their forms. This ensures applicants meet the specific health standards required for these high-stress roles.
Documentation and Compliance Regulations
Administrative preparation is a focus of this recruitment cycle. Candidates must organize and secure their official certificates before the process begins. Specifically, the board requires documentation concerning Scheduled Caste sub-classification, non-creamy layer status, and Economically Weaker Sections eligibility. Applicants must also provide proof of local candidature and any applicable special category certifications to facilitate the digital uploading process during registration.
