State govt. will focus on G.O. 3 for jobs for tribals in Agency areas, says Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday announced that the State government would focus on G.O. No. 3, which was struck down by the Supreme Court, for providing employment for tribals in their local areas in Andhra Pradesh. 

“G.O. No. 3 (2000) was issued during my term as the Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, offering 100% reservation for local Scheduled Tribe teachers in the Scheduled Areas. In 2020, the G.O. was struck down by the Supreme Court as the then government could not defend it. Now, the State government will discuss about, for providing employment opportunities for the Scheduled Tribes in their local areas,” said Mr. Naidu.

Before the public meeting, accompanied by IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, Mr. Naidu spent a few hours with the teachers, students and their parents during the Fourth Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting at the Zilla Parishad High School and Junior College (ZPHS&JR College) in Rampachodavaram in Polavaram district.

The duo took a session for the students on the school campus, assessing the learning capabilities and quality of learning among the students before having lunch with them. The lunch was served as part of the Dokka Seethamma scheme, earlier known as Mid-Day Meal. 

Addressing the teachers, students and parents on the school campus, Mr. Naidu announced that he had conducted 14 DSC recruitments to fill up teaching posts so far.

No shortage of teachers

“At present, there is no shortage of teachers in any government school across the State, in sharp contrast to the situation where many schools struggled due to lack of teachers during the 2019-24 period. Now, vacancies in schools have been filled up with the teachers recruited in the 2024 DSC,” the Chief Minister said.

Mr. Naidu said that Artificial Intelligence tutors would soon be deployed to assist the teachers in the government schools in Andhra Pradesh.

Reminding the students of the technological advances in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Naidu further claimed that the State government was also preparing to deploy the tools of Artificial Intelligence in agriculture to work along with the scientists. 

'Dream big'

Appealing to students to dare to dream and strive to achieve big in their lives, Mr. Naidu said that parents prefer more children as they would no longer be a burden on them but assets. “The annual financial aid of ₹15,000 for every student up to Intermediate under Thalliki Vandanam scheme will meet the needs of their education. More than ₹10,000 crore has been disbursed under the scheme on July 23, despite financial constraints,” the Chief Minister said and announced a 10% hike in the diet charges in welfare hostels.

Referring to Alluri Sitarama Raju’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle from Rampachodavaram, Mr. Naidu said that the Bhogapuram airport has been named after him so that his services would be remembered forever. “Polavaram is the only district in Andhra Pradesh that has been formed with only one Assembly constituency. A target has been set to provide telecommunication network and internet facility to every household within three months,” he said. 

The Chief Minister also virtually launched ‘Connect to School‘, an initiative that seeks donations from the alumni of government schools for the development of their respective schools online.
