Srisailam Temple Tightens Sparsha Darshan Rules to Manage Weekend Crowds

Shift to Nighttime Slots for Weekend Devotees

The administration of the Srisailam temple has overhauled its visitation protocols to better accommodate general pilgrims. Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao confirmed that Sparsha Darshan will now be restricted exclusively to specific nighttime hours on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. During these three high-traffic days, the temple will no longer permit the practice during morning or afternoon sessions.

Mid-Week Routines and Upcoming Sravana Changes

For the remainder of the week—Tuesdays through Fridays—the Devasthanam intends to maintain its standard schedule of three daily sessions. However, the upcoming month of Sravana will trigger further adjustments. During this period, Sparsha Darshan will be suspended during morning and afternoon hours on Fridays, mirroring the weekend restrictions to handle the anticipated surge in seasonal attendance.

Revised Protocol for Dignitaries and Accommodations

Management is also enforcing stricter requirements for high-profile visitors. Dignitaries must now provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice before their arrival. The temple office requires all recommendation letters for darshan or lodging to be submitted on official letterheads within this two-day window.
