Lethal Escalation Over Midday Meal in Puduvayal

Law enforcement authorities in Sakkottai have taken 35-year-old Prashanth into custody following the death of his wife, Uyyammal, 42. Prashanth, a daily wage laborer residing in Puduvayal near Karaikudi, allegedly attacked his spouse on Wednesday afternoon after she presented him with leftover rice for lunch.

Investigators report that the suspect, a divorcee before his marriage to Uyyammal, was involved in frequent domestic conflicts with the victim. During the Wednesday altercation, Prashanth reportedly pushed Uyyammal to the ground with such force that she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Officers transported the body to the Karaikudi Government Hospital for a formal post-mortem examination as the investigation continues.

Recidivism and Violence in Thiruppuvanam

In a separate criminal case within the same district, Thiruppuvanam police arrested 29-year-old Yogaraja for the murder of his 25-year-old wife, Pandichelvi. The homicide occurred just one day after Yogaraja was released from prison on bail for a prior, unspecified offense.

According to police statements, the fatal dispute began when Pandichelvi refused to provide her husband with money to purchase alcohol. In the ensuing confrontation, Yogaraja reportedly used a weapon to hack his wife to death. Key facts regarding the arrests include:
