Security Breach at Kadiri Depot: Inebriated Man Drives Stolen APSRTC Bus 80 Kilometers

An Anantapur resident identified as Siva Prasad, 45, was apprehended by authorities after allegedly stealing a state-run transport vehicle and navigating it across district lines. The incident began late Friday night at the Kadiri RTC bus stand in Sri Sathya Sai district. Finding no active transit options for his intended trip to Madanapalle, the intoxicated suspect targeted an APSRTC bus parked near the Government Girls High School, which had been left unattended by its driver.

Discovery and Recovery Operations

Law enforcement officials from Madanapalle Urban reported that the suspect managed to pilot the large vehicle approximately 80 kilometers before reaching the Madanapalle RTC bus stand in the early hours of Saturday. The missing vehicle triggered a frantic multi-hour search involving police from two districts. Investigators successfully located the bus and the suspect by utilizing technical clues gathered throughout the morning.
