Police Deploy Drones to Manage Traffic Surge During Indrakeeladri Ashada Utsavams
Deputy Commissioner Shareen Begum conducted aerial surveillance to oversee traffic flow for the Ashada Maasam Utsavams. New measures aim to ease congestion for devotees traveling from Telangana and neighboring districts.
Aerial Surveillance and Junction Monitoring
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-Traffic) Shareen Begum conducted a field review on July 27, 2026, to assess traffic management during the Ashada Maasam Utsavams at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devastanam. Accompanied by Traffic Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramachandra Rao, the DCP utilized drone technology to track vehicles arriving at Indrakeeladri from West Godavari, Guntur, and Telangana.
Strategic Congestion Management
In anticipation of the Sakambari Utsavams, the DCP issued specific directives to the One Town and Traffic police departments to minimize devotee discomfort. The inspection focused on several high-traffic junctions and parking zones, including:
- Gaddabomma Centre
- Kummaripalem
- Saneeswara Temple
- Seetammavari Padalu
Officers received orders to maintain clear transit routes across Indrakeeladri. The strategy involves proactive clearing at designated bottlenecks to prevent any significant buildup as the festival progresses.
