Magadi Road police have initiated legal action against 17 individuals following a violent public disturbance on Dr. Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar. The incident, which unfolded on July 23 between 9:40 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., caused significant traffic congestion and alarm among local residents. Police personnel conducting night patrol duties discovered a group of approximately 18 to 20 people engaged in verbal abuse and physical assault attempts on the thoroughfare.

Origin of the Confrontation

Preliminary investigations indicate the violence was sparked by a minor disagreement between two local business operators. Those identified in the preliminary inquiry include:

  • Siddaraju, a mobile shop owner.
  • Deepak, a rival mobile shop owner.
  • Associates and supporters of both retail owners.

Officers on the scene successfully dispersed the gathered crowd and restored order before the situation escalated further. The formal case was filed based on a detailed complaint submitted by Assistant Sub-Inspector Kumar K.R., who witnessed the public brawl while on duty. Authorities have officially booked the suspects for their roles in the disturbance.
