Over 28,000 Kerala Students Seek Higher Secondary School and Course Transfers
The application window for Plus One school and course adjustments closed Monday with nearly 29,000 requests submitted. Education officials will publish the remaining vacancies on August 1 to begin the next phase of admissions.
District Distribution and Applicant Statistics
Official records show that 28,832 students applied online for Plus One higher secondary transfers before the Monday deadline. The northern districts of Kerala accounted for the highest volume of these requests. Malappuram led the state with 7,636 applications, representing more than 25% of the total volume. Following Malappuram, Kozhikode recorded 3,710 applications, while Kannur saw 3,215 submissions.
Transfer Options and Next Phases
The Directorate provided three distinct pathways for students looking to adjust their current placements:
- Transferring to a different school within the same district where admission was already granted.
- Moving to a different school while simultaneously changing the subject combination.
- Retaining the current school but switching the academic course combination.
The completion of this transfer process will determine the final number of available seats across the state. Authorities plan to release the updated list of vacancies on August 1. This data will serve as the foundation for the second supplementary allotment phase, allowing more students to secure positions in their preferred institutions or streams.
