The girls, aged 15, 16, and 17, vanished from their Fareed Basti residence in the Domalguda area of Hyderabad during the pre-dawn hours of July 19. Their parents, who had recently moved from Chhattisgarh to Hyderabad in May to seek employment, notified authorities after their own search attempts failed.
The Domalguda police initiated an investigation under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The operation involved four specialized units, including members of the Secunderabad Task Force, who systematically analyzed data from 262 separate CCTV cameras to map the girls' movements.
The Escape Route
Surveillance footage provided a detailed timeline of their flight:
- July 19, 01:47 a.m.: The trio exited their home and hired an autorickshaw to Kachiguda Railway Station.
- July 19, Morning: After moving to Secunderabad Railway Station and spending time near James Street, they boarded the Dhanapur Express at approximately 9:00 a.m.
- July 20, Evening: The minors arrived in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
- Post-Nagpur: The girls took a bus to Gadchiroli, eventually reaching Patanjur village in Chhattisgarh.
The sisters sought refuge for two days at a residence belonging to an individual identified as Biswajith. However, technical leads allowed the Hyderabad team to pinpoint their location in Chhattisgarh.
Rescue and Resolution
Final recovery was secured through a joint intervention between Hyderabad investigators and the Kanker police station in Chhattisgarh. Upon being questioned, the minors admitted they fled home voluntarily following a domestic dispute involving their parents. The successful mission, completed on July 27, was conducted under the direct oversight of senior police leadership, marking the end of a high-stakes search that relied heavily on digital forensics and interstate cooperation.
