Strategic Leadership Shift at Instamart

In a significant executive reshuffle, Swiggy announced on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, that Nandita Sinha will take over as the Chief Executive Officer of its quick commerce arm, Instamart. This transition follows the departure of Amitesh Kumar Jha, who is leaving the organization to pursue external interests. Sinha is scheduled to assume her new responsibilities starting August 3, 2026.

New CEO Brings E-commerce Expertise

Sinha joins the quick commerce platform after a tenure as the CEO of fashion e-retailer Myntra. Upon her appointment, she characterized Instamart as a central component of how Indian consumers manage daily requirements. Sinha noted her intention to collaborate with internal teams and partners to drive the platform's upcoming expansion phase.

Departure of Amitesh Kumar Jha

The transition was formalized via a regulatory filing which included Jha’s resignation letter addressed to Sriharsha Majety, Swiggy’s Managing Director and Group CEO. Jha officially notified the board of his intent to step down from the top post at Instamart to seek opportunities outside the company. The filing clarified that the transition will be completed by early August to ensure operational continuity.
