Kalaburagi Duo Detained After Brandishing Replica Firearm in Restaurant Conflict
Police have arrested two men following a violent confrontation at a Biddapur Colony establishment involving a fake pistol. The incident escalated after staff confronted the patrons for spitting inside the premises.
Escalation Over Sanitation
Authorities in Kalaburagi have taken Syed Jilan, 36, and Javed Patel, 35, into custody following a July 22 incident that turned violent at a local bar and restaurant. The confrontation began when the brother of the establishment's owner confronted the two men, both residents of the MSK Mill area's Iqbal Colony, for spitting gutka inside the building. What started as a verbal disagreement regarding hygiene standards quickly deteriorated into a physical struggle.
Threats with a Replica Firearm
During the ensuing scuffle, the suspects allegedly produced a fake pistol to intimidate staff and customers. Investigation details reveal that Jilan and Patel attempted to assault the complainant while brandishing the imitation weapon. Officers from the Ashok Nagar police station have since recovered the replica used during the altercation. The specific charges filed against the pair include an alleged attempt to murder, alongside other relevant legal violations.
Police Investigation and Arrests
A specialized police unit executed the arrests following a week-long inquiry into the Biddapur Colony disturbance. The operation included the following key personnel:
