Japanese Man Didn't Speak To His Wife For 20 Years. The Reason Was Unexpected
A Japanese man who did not speak a single word to his wife for two decades finally broke his silence during a televised reconciliation. Despite living together and raising three children, the husband communicated only through nods and grunts due to long-standing feelings of resentment.

Otou Katayama, a resident of Nara, Japan, lived in total silence with his wife Yumi for twenty years, despite the couple continuing to share a home. While Yumi made repeated efforts to speak to her husband, he would only respond with non-verbal gestures or brief grunts, even as they raised their three children together.
The silence was finally broken after the couple's 18-year-old son, Yoshiki, wrote to a television program requesting help to fix his parents' relationship. The show arranged a meeting between the pair at a local park where they had their first date, while their adult children watched from a distance via hidden cameras.
During the emotional encounter, Otou explained that his silence was rooted in a sense of neglect and jealousy, feeling that his wife's attention had been entirely focused on the children rather than him. He expressed regret for the cold treatment and thanked Yumi for her endurance and support throughout the decades of silence. Source: Daily Mail
