Men Overcome Third-Seed England in Ontario

In a high-stakes quarterfinal matchup in Ontario, the fifth-seeded Indian men’s national squash team defeated third-seed England 2-1. This victory secures India a position in the semifinals against the United States, keeping the squad on track to surpass their bronze-medal performance from the previous year. Aryaveer Dewan initiated the Indian momentum, securing a clinical 3-0 win against Ronnie Hickling with scores of 11-9, 12-10, and 11-5.

England responded through Ismail Khalil, who managed to level the aggregate score by defeating Yusha Nafees in a five-game contest. Despite Nafees taking the first game, Khalil rallied to win 11-7, 8-11, 11-4, 11-13, 7-11. The pressure fell to Gurveer Singh in the deciding match. Singh delivered a dominant performance, sweeping George Griffiths 11-3, 11-8, 11-6 to clinch the series for India.

Women Eliminated Following American Rally

The narrative differed for the Indian women's team, who were eliminated from the competition after a 1-2 loss to the United States. Recent individual world junior champion Anahat Singh provided India with a promising start, defeating Diya Yadav in straight games (11-7, 11-5, 11-4) to take an early lead.

However, the American side systematically dismantled the Indian advantage in the following matches. Rudra Singh failed to secure a game against Charlotte Sze, losing 6-11, 4-11, 8-11. The loss was finalized when Lily Bourell defeated Anika Dubey. Although Dubey battled through a close first game, Bourell eventually took the match 13-11, 11-8, 11-6, ending India's pursuit of the women's team title.
