Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, landed in Hanoi on August 3, 2026, to commence a three-day official tour focused on scaling up military coordination between India and Vietnam. The Vietnam People’s Army Air Defence–Air Force Service greeted the Indian Air Chief with a full ceremonial reception. Following the honors, Singh entered into technical negotiations with Lieutenant-General Vu Hong Son, Commander of the Air Defence–Air Force Service. The dialogue centered on evaluating existing joint initiatives while identifying fresh opportunities for cooperation within the air domain. Key objectives include:

This transaction marks a shift in the relationship from purely diplomatic dialogue to a robust supplier-partner dynamic, reinforcing India's role as a primary security contributor in Southeast Asia.
